You might even love it! But it's better to go in to this game with lower expectations. Hell, you might be able to look past the terrible plot points I couldn't. If you've any desire to know how the hell and who the what and why is that in KH3, then play it. Being forced to automatically change characters hurts the game a bit, especially since bosses regen all health when reverting back to whatever character in the middle of a boss battle. I actually didn't totally mind the dream eaters, mainly because I didn't put much time into it in the first place. The dash parkour aspect was a bit too much for me, but your mileage may vary. But the free movement dash and dream eaters make it a totally different game. Similar to BBS in some aspects, like the skill and and spell selection. It's a little jarring to see the worlds so empty, barren and lonely, but it's understandable since you do the fast free movement everywhere. And the boss battle against Rinzler has one of my favourite music tracks in the entire series. Unfortunately, it's so laughably important to the plot of the series as a whole, more so than even Birth By Sleep and KH2. And you'll get to experience the most epic final boss gauntlet!īarring coded, which is a game whose story is absolutely unnecessary, DDD has, (in my opinion,of course), the absolute WORST story of the series, and is actually the reason why I, a life long KH fanatic, kinda lost hype for 3. Honestly, in a pure gameplay sense, it's only second to KH2 if you actually utilize everything the game has to offer. BBS required the command board and munny grinding to get skills, and the command board was probably the least fun mini game in the Kingdom Hearts series. The dream eaters aren't grindy at all by comparison, and you'll still get some decent skills passively. At first I thought these guys were lame inserts, but after putting a good 150 hours into the game I feel that this was a whole lot better than the way Birth by Sleep handled getting skills. Each DE has at least 3 personalities that change how they function as a party member (on a basic level, like caster, balanced, melee fighter). You can learn some absolutely crazy skills through them (like Meteor Crash and Dark Aura) and they're super customizable as party members. Better to just do a manual drop if that happens and you'll restart the fight with a full gauge. The big downside is always if you run into a boss fight with barely any time left on the gauge.

And as another poster said, drop-me-nots do exactly what their name says, although i dont really find myself using them much. Later on this is actually a great way to get some hard-to-earn skills. The better your current character does during his playtime, the better the rewards for the other character. Think of the drop system as a way to help out your teammate, rather than a penalty.
